Mapping and 9-1-1 data services specific to your requirements
Helping your agency obtain accurate data
The heart of your 9-1-1 system is the 9-1-1 data and mapping/GIS data used for locating and responding to those in emergent need. Contact One has an experienced, fully staffed 9-1-1 GIS Data Analyst team who is dedicated to your agencies success. The Data Analyst team consists of highly skilled and degreed GIS experts who have years of experience in delivering public safety GIS solutions to customers similar to your city, county or state. Through multiple office locations, Contact One has efficient access to your locality in order to attend important meetings and perform necessary field work.
Contact One GIS Analysts utilize the most advanced procedures, hardware and software for performing map and 9-1-1 database editing and correction. Offered solutions include differentially corrected Global Positioning Systems (GPS), hand-held field mapping units, or distance collection of features via laser. Because Contact One is an ESRI Business Partner, Data Analysts use ESRI-based solutions to produce ESRI formatted data – the public safety GIS standard. Contact One has a fleet of fuel efficient vehicles for use in GPS data collection and data validation, on-site meetings and other project-related tasks requiring vehicle travel. Unlike many mapping firms, Contact One will not outsource your project to other companies or overseas ventures.
Benefits of 9-1-1 Mapping and GIS Data Development
- Increased Data Accuracy
Increasing data accuracy involves the correction of existing data, addition of any missing data and the real-time capturing of any data discrepancies. This process eliminates the erroneous data in the system. Ongoing database synchronization ensures that new errors are quickly identified and corrected.
- Addressing
When necessary, addresses must be generated based on addressing ordinances, methodologies, and/or standards. Contact One has provided addressing services and address-change tasks. Accurate addressing is critical to a successful and complete 9-1-1 database, and is useful across the agency enterprise.
- More Effective Call Location Ability
If the MSAG database contains erroneous information about an address, location information may not be available for emergency calls from those addresses. With all projects, errors in the MSAG database are corrected therefore, increasing the accuracy of incoming calls with accurate location information. Direct upload of new data to your dispatch center can also be provided.
- Proprietary Validation Procedures
Contact One has developed over 30 different validations for insuring data accuracy for 9-1-1 and public safety. Much of this process coincides with the MapSAG product. This original ‘Graphic MSAG’ process for achieving synchronization between your 9-1-1 and mapping database is performed on all mapping and 9-1-1 development services.
- NENA Compliant
Contact One contributed to the NENA mapping standards document, and performs all data development meeting the NENA mapping requirements. 9-1-1 Data Analysts can produce entire MSAG database files in the most recent NENA format.
